Hi Lekha,
-Please leave margin on both edges of the page…
-Form small para…reading long para is like forgetting the previous things and moving ahead without any direction…its more of confusing…and hence will fetch marks accordingly…
-You have acceded the word limit as well…please pay attention to it…
-Introductory para seems good…however, its long and need to sync it…
-The points are good with well mentioned ideas…
Overall, the answer is good content wise…need to improve format and structure of answer…

Keep writing..

Hi Lekha,
-Introduction is very good…
-However, under domestic influence…unifying factors are somewhat good…but the other two points i.e. international boundaries, import/export etc. does not suit to the logic of geographical influences…These points might need more clarity or further elaboration…
-Points under regional factors as well as internal influence are good…and well written…
-Overall, good attempt…keep writing…

Hi Rohit,
-Kindly post answers separately one by one…reviewing separately makes easy for us…as well as for you to evaluate the performance…
01
-First of all, Politics is not the sister discipline of geography…so abstain yourself from furnishing wrong info…
-Poor introduction…no concrete and logical ideas have been brought here…Geography influences the living condition of people, livelihood, economy, market system, food habit, crops growing and subsequently administration…administration is governed by politics and are also vice versa…
-Ideas brought under classification are very general…
Geographical factors influences the political decisions like special category status to hilly state of north and north-east, tribal areas and forest cover areas gets special administration, crops grown depends on the soil, water, surrounding environment, river interlinking etc…

Overall, the answer seems to be an average one…keep writing will improve for sure…
Marks awarded: 3.5/15

Refer our model answer for better clarity…

02
-Your answer seems to be okay…however, you have missed some of the key points…we need to mention why there has been sour in relationship between both the countries…mention separately the issues for Nepal and India…
After mentioning the bone of contention, suggest some steps (the “other steps include” mentioned by you is good and can be placed here…)
-Overall, structure wise the answer seems to be good…need to improve in content by mentioning all the aspects…
Keep writing…will improve for sure…

Marks awarded: 4/10

03
-There is no introduction and conclusion in answer…
-However, reasons of ineffectiveness and consequences are good…
-More points can be added under suitable measures…
Good approach…keep writing…

Marks awarded: 5/12.5

04
-Good answer…points are precise and well arranged…good one…keep it up…keep writing…
Marks awarded: 5.5/12.5

Hi Tabassum,
-Arrange your answer is 3, 4, 5 paragraphs…avoid forming long paragraph…
-Intro seems okay…2nd para also seems okay…and the ideas here is also good…though example needed to support and clarify the points…
Widely shared values are good to maintain cohesion in society however sometimes such widely shared values gets so prevailed that it becomes the norms of society despite being morally wrong…for example Dowry system, child marriage… etc…

-Though good attempt…keep writing will improve for sure…

Hi Tabassum,
-Please leave margin on both edges of the page…ensure that one line should not contain more than 5-6 words.
-Some words of lines are hidden on margin…hence difficulties in deciphering…though reviewing…
-Introduction seems okay…
-Points under inefficiency seems good…however, more need to be incorporated apart from what you have brought…like A large number of small and marginal farmers are distressed as the current system of market institution doubly squeezes them, in input as well as output…, Since the post-reforms policy regime in 1991, agriculture has been facing multiple crises….,The rising pressure of population on land and agriculture, besides sluggishness in the shifting of workforce away from agriculture, has adversely affected small and marginal farmers….etc..etc…

-There are very few measures mentioned…that too are very general…

Overall, attempt is good…however, need to address all aspects asked in question…hence need to have more focus on question…
Keep writing…will improve for sure…

-Introductory para is too big…and there is nothing mentioned about Nepal…The question is related to the relationship between India and Nepal…however, your answer is more inclined towards showing relationship between Indian and China…
-Narrow ideas with poor approach…need to have more focus on question…
Such answer is termed as below average answer…though keep writing will improve for sure…

Hi invictus,
Kindly upload answers one by one separately…
01)
-The presentation seems to be poor…we are not supposed to start with diagram…there should be proper introduction to a question…
-Also the same sentences have been repeated many times…its not a good practice concerning the word limit…
-Ideas mentioned are poor and not having conformity with the question…
-structure wise as well as content wise the answer is very poor…

Though, keep writing….will improve for sure…
Refer our model answer for better clarity…

02
-There is no introduction in answer…Nothing is mentioned about India-Nepal relation…
-Mixed up ideas in issues…It would be good if we mention the issues separately for India and for China…Also few issues only have been brought…
-The measures suggested are somewhat good…though it could be more better…
-conclusion could have been much better…

Overall below average answer…Keep writing will improve for sure…

Refer our model answer for better clarity…

03
-Introduction seems good…Points on first page is okay…though there are many other reasons also…
-Positive consequences and negative consequences are also seems okay…

-Avoid using tabular form…mention everything in paragraph…though ideas in measures are okay…but need to arrange them in paragraph…
-Conclusion is absent…

Overall good attempt…more focus on structure as well as in content is what required…
Refer our model answer for better clarity…

04
-Poor answer…not at par with the question asked…
I think you didn’t get the question properly…
Here, we need to talk about the individual conscience or values which s/he learned from the society…I would like to clarify with example – For example: dowry is an act of criminal and is prohibited by Dowry Prohibition Act 1961. However, still the practice of dowry acceptance and giving is rampant in various part of India and is seen as a prestige in accepting it. More amounts (in quantity) in dowry lead more prestige to the family giving or accepting it….this is because the thinking of society has been moulded in the same way…However, this practice is unethical and hence we can say that Without commonly shared and widely entrenched moral values and obligations, neither the law, nor democratic government, nor even the market economy will function properly….

Though good…keep writing…will improve for sure…

Improve ur handwriting..i also have bad handwriting.i am a lefty so i face problem .gradually adjussting with 24 word per min speed.
If handwriting is illegible even for an answer that deserves 6 out of 10, hardly 1.5..specially when some have very good handwfiting and ok content ( in that case an otherwise undeserving answer gets 6 )

Hi Deepika,
-The answer seems to be okay…However, your approach is narrow…your concern is confined with the individual only.
-Commonly shared values means wider consent of masses where more individual wants to adhere the ethical principles and give up the habits which are not in conformity…
For example: Dowry system which is rampant in practice despite its being ethically wrong. But the individual conscience here is to have more amount as dowry in order to get more respect in society. This is the commonly shared value and practice.
Though your attempt is good…try being more specific to the point with wider view of ideas, the rest is okay…

Keep writing…

Hi Deepika,
-Introduction seems okay…However, you have not mentioned why it has been a populist measure…reasons are the political only though it provides temporary relief to farmers…its like filling temporary gap…
-consequences mentioned are very general…
-Measures brought are also few…talk about removing middle man, interlinking of market with input and production, increased subsidy and tax concession to farmers, government should give agro-processing industry a policy push to pull rural people out of agriculture…etc…

-The rest of the points are good…bring more focus on question…

Overall, good attempt…keep writing will improve for sure…

Hi Deepika,
-Introduction need more elaboration or more ideas required here…
-The points mentioned are good…and in flow…
However, there are some issues between India and Nepal which disappoints Nepal…like Madhesi crisis, month long blockade, India silence at the time of blockade, intervention in constitution framing, interfering in internal matters of Nepal etc…Keeping in mind these issues Nepal’s inclination to China is a worry for India.
-China’s proactive approach towards dealing with Nepal add fuel to India’s concern. signing of trade agreement, recognizing OBOR and infrastructural development in Nepal by China etc…is a major concern for India.

The rest of the points are good and well written…just add the above points in order to complete the answer…
-Good attempt…keep writing…

Hi Stevie G,
-First of all, the entire page in not for writing…please leave margin on both edges of the page…
-2nd, avoid using diagram for all the answers…especially when the points can be explained in paragraphs…UPSC aspires us to write in paragraph using flow of language and hence diagram and tabular format will not work…the marks will be provided accordingly…

Now reviewing your answer…
-Poor introduction….Your points are not connected to the logic you are providing…
Democracy is different and fulfilling the aspiration of people in democratic country is different from being dependent on the geographical factors…
Geography influences the living condition of people, livelihood, economy, market system, food habit, crops growing and subsequently administration…

The points are not at par with the question asked…

-You need to have more conceptual clarity regarding the topic…

Though good attempt…keep writing will improve for sure…
