Export Performance: India likely to miss target

  1. India is likely to miss the exports target for the 4th year in succession, unless corrective measures are taken by Centre.
  2. Federation of Indian Export Organization(FIEO) has set the target of export at $310 billion as compared to last year’s $340 billion.
  3. Poor global demand and devaluation of Chinese yuan led to low shipments in the first 4 months.
  4. FIEO want the govt. to conclude FTA and CEPA with Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Canada immediately.
