Hi Narayana…Very few ideas in intro and in the following paragraph…infact only one idea…try incorporating multiple ideas…like its initiation, areas of work (different from impact) etc…
-Very few points in Objectives as well…We need to stress more on motives and issues…
-Good points under issues…have over emphasised on what needs to be done (not required much)…the way forward should be included in conclusion in short…
-However, good attempt…need to have balanced approach of including points…keep practicing…
      Marks awarded: 4.5/10

The Quad arrangement which was initially proposed by the present Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is a Strategic grouping of India, US, Japan and Australia to deter the hegemonic attitude of China in the Indo-Pacific.
China seeking for a unipolar world with its economic prowess is taking on the major geopolitical powers of not only Asia but also the world. In order to check the Chinese influence and prevent unipolarisation of Asia, the quad arrangement has been initiated. It also seeks to provide an alternative to the Chinese investment models in the region.
There a couple of issues that Quad is facing:
    1. The objective of forming quad is not totally aligned, i.e. each member has a different motive to enter the quad arrangement like Japan, US and Australia seek for maritime security but India does not.
    2. China is an economic powerhouse of this century. The volume of trade that it has with the members would prevent them taking any bold steps against China.
    3. Australia has no issues related to China, the US is an extra-regional power which with its present ambiguous foreign policies can exit the grouping, Japan and India are the only neighbors of China in the group who are facing the heat of China hegemony.
China is already a step ahead of this grouping with initiatives like Belt Road Initiative and Maritime Silk Route. Whereas, three out of the four members of the Quad members have already been practicing naval exercises together. Despite a few hurdles to the grouping, the addition of the fourth member and formation of the Quad may help to retain the balance in Indo-Pacific.

Hi Dushyant…You have introduced the topic very well…however, under motive have overstressed on China’s aggressiveness…Need to mention some other motives/objectives as well…like endorsing and following international laws on water, freedom of navigation, hassle free trade, parity in trade partnership, anti-piracy & anti-trafficking, help in any unprecedented disaster and to invest and financially support the targeted countries in the region…
-The points under issues are okay…however, more can be incorporated with twists…
      -Conclusion is missing…
Overall, good attempt…just few changes will make the answer very good…keep practicing…an improved answer from earlier approach…
      Marks awarded: 4/10

Hi syedjaheed ahamad…welcome to our initiative…
Introduction is very simple having only two ideas…Try including more…
-The points under motives need to be elaborated…Remember individual points should be complete in itself…
-Individual points under issues are incomplete…the why and reasoning component is missing…
Suggestion: Write in your answer in paragraph format…and try to incorporate as much ideas you can…dynamism is required now a days…straight forward answer will get straight forward marks…include some literary aspects…
-Elaborate the points of conclusion also…It should be your viewpoints with future prospects…
Your attempt is good…have conceptual knowledge…just write the answer in proper structure and format…Keep practicing…
      Marks awarded: 3/10

  •  Utkarsh Deep @utkarshdeep

The Quad arrangement is an informal strategic dialogue between four nations i.e. India, USA, Japan and Australia. It’s root lies in The Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (QSD) started in 2007.
    Aim of the group:
    * Maritime security of Indo-Pacific Ocean, which has the bearing on freedom of navigation and flow of goods. Already China has built an illegal base in spratly and paracel islands.
    * Counter Chinese hegemony in global economy and polity: It will help provide necessary finance and technical support and develop an alternative to Chinese Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
    Issues with the arrangement:
    * Lack of concrete vision: Though unanimous over Indo-Pacific maritime security against Chinese increasing naval presence in the region.
    * Sustainability:
-The QSD, which was having similar aim, dissolved within a year of its launch as Australia left the group.
    * There is lack of clarity about the role of each of the members evolved.
    – The group may be misused by the US against the US – China rivalry or the USA may use its economic hegemony and impose its idea.
    – India’s stand and position in the group when rest of the members are developed countries. Also, India is unwilling to make it a military alliance. It will violate its NAM policy
    – Physical barrier due to different geographical position of the countries against each other.
Clearly, the group need to come up with a clear policy, which should include economic prosperity and security of the members countries. Also, India need to pro-actively push his idea and concern against the powerful member countries..
