The ‘Gandhi – Irwin Pact’ was a political agreement signed by Mahatma Gandhi and Lord Irwin, Viceroy of India, on 5 March 1931 before the second Round Table Conference in London. It included invitation to congress to participate in Round Table Conference, withdrawal of ordinances promulgated in connection with the Civil Disobedience Movement and release of prisoners who were not charged with violence.
