Changes in ecological character have occurred, are occurring or are likely to occur in the wetland as a result of human interference.

Explanation

The Montrex Record is register of wetland sites on the List of Wetlands of International Importance. It registers the changes occured or occuring or may occur in ecological character because of technological developments, pollution or other human interference. The Main objective of this Mechanism is to provide assistance to developed and developing countries alike in solving the problems or threats that make inlcusion in the Montreux Record necessary. Additional Information: Currently, two wetlands of India are in Montreux record. Keoladeo National Park (Rajasthan) and Lohtak Lake (Manipur). Chilika Lake (Odisha) was placed in the record but was later removed from it.
