  • Smash Ethics by Swatantra Sir, Value Addition lectures by AIR 48, IAS Aaditya sir Senior Faculty

Smash Ethics by Swatantra Sir, Value Addition lectures by AIR 48, IAS Aaditya sir Senior Faculty

Lectures start on 7th December. Register Here.

    Hi Aspirants,

I’m Aaditya and I have scored 133 in GS IV Ethics, one of the highest. I had understood 1 thing – all other GS papers- GS1, GS2, GS3 require you to prepare 4-5 subjects that have infinite topics under them. And no matter how much you prepare, a lot of it will be outside your control.

Ethics is 1 complete GS paper dedicated to 1 subject!

This is a huge opportunity. It would be the greatest blunder if we didn’t make Ethics our number 1 strength. There’s no point in putting in half-baked efforts.

Ethics can be tricky, but UPSC doesn’t expect Ph.D. level knowledge.

Approach to Ethics can be very challenging. Consider Ethical terms like ethics, morals, values, principles, etc. We use them interchangeably at home in common parlance. At the same time, there is high-end research happening on them, every scholar has a different take, and different definitions.

Instead, focus on technical, bureaucratic understanding with conceptual clarity and practical applicability. My course is designed to help you navigate this terrain efficiently.

We will cover everything essentialskip the unnecessary complexities, and foster the mastery of ethical language. Answer writing practice is key, and this course will kickstart that journey.

Join me on this journey, and together, let’s make Ethics our number one strength! Best of luck to all of you!

    Inclusions

    1. 12 Theory + 2 Case Studies (+2 buffer lectures if the time limit is exceeded). Live Zoom sessions for 1.30-2hrs each. Ppt will be provided.
    2. My personal Handwritten notes. You can build on top of that.
    3. Ethics 50 Terms + CA examples for quick reference.
    4. DoP&T+UNDP: Competency Dictionary for Civil Services
    5. 2nd ARC: Ethics in Governance

    For Smash Ethics

FlashNotes are not just Laxmikanth short summaries. They are an entirely different way of revising Polity.

Comparisons, tables, timelines, all the information in easy to grasp manner.

Comparing Constitutions is a GS2 syllabus topic thats a nightmare to study. Our notes meticulously compare Indian Constitution with those of 10 other countries across 15 dimensions.

Similar efforts have gone in for all other chapters like Constitutional Bodies, Emergencies, etc.

Attend the workshop to understand the approaches behind Notes

    Recommended by AIR16, AIR22, AIR48 and others.

In the last 3 years, a lot of things have changed about UPSC-CSE preparation. Core books like NCERTs, Laxmikanth are a great starting point but they need to be substituted with your own notes that are precise and help you recall everything.

Every Topper has put in an extraordinary effort to streamline their notes. It was an obsession. It took them multiple iterations and failed attempts to finally get to a version that helped them cut down on the revision time and remove the dependency on the core books.

Take the example of Council Acts that you start with. You need to understand

    1. How the executive/legislature has been evolving with each act, and their powers.
    2. The new bodies being created BOC, COD, and their mandates.
    3. How were the Provinces being impacted?
    4. Finally, the key features and points to note for each Act.

    The good news is that:

You don’t have to fail 2 attempts to develop this topper-level clarity.

Put your 3 hours/day in better use to enhance your knowledge than to struggle with how to capture information in your notes.

The age of highlighting, bookmarking, keywords and bulky digital notes is long gone. Your notes are either going to be your biggest asset or the most anxiety-inducing pile of garbage.

I know what that stress and anxiety can do to your mental health. I have seen aspirants struggling with their notes and one-drive and multiple registers. The constant self-doubt is paralyzing. Trust me, you don’t want to be in that head space.

    50 Ethics Terms PDF

    Hello Aspirants,

The 50 Ethics Terms by Civilsdaily is the most important document to aid your Ethics Preparation.

Ethics GS 4 paper is lot easier to score when compared with all other papers.

It is also a lot easier to prepare if you have the right study material and the right guidance that doesn’t send you on a wild goose chase.

Having clarity about every single term in Ethics is the single most important point to acing this paper. As a matter of fact, Ethics is all terms.

Even veterans with 4-5 years of prep make the following mistakes

    1. Look for technical definitions from a psychology/anthro/philo point of view. That is not the requirement of the GS 4 paper. GS 4 paper wants you to present practical definitions with depth and no ambiguity.
    2. Using terms interchangeably. EMVA all help in deciding good and bad. This doesn’t help and you will get penalized for lacking depth. You have to understand points of similarity and differentiation. You can’t use definitions that miss the crux of why the term exists.
    3. Don’t understand the level of abstraction. Some are abstract, loosely held constructs while some are observable.
    4. Don’t understand the idea that certain terms are discussed together. Eg – SEC, PIH, Commitment/dedication, etc. Eg. Check the table below.
    UPSC Ethics Sympath, Empath, Compassion

If you are quoting age old standard examples, then its impossible to stand out. You need to prepare examples from 2023 Current Affairs.

50 Ethics Terms by Civilsdaily is a document that you will keep referring back again and again every time to sit to revise ethics.

UPSC Prelims Results – Namewise list. CD students shine and the path forward.

    Hi everyone,

🎉Heartfelt congratulations to everyone who has made it to the list. It is a huge achievement. 14k out of ~10L is a big deal. At CD, nothing gives us more pride than receiving selection messages from you.

For us, this is a tough time as many students who were absolutely brilliant missed out for some reason or the other. There are 2 learnings with which we are moving forward.

First, nothing is more painful than acing the GS paper but failing CSAT. And this has been the case with many folks who appeared for the interview as well. This year, we will leave no stone unturned to ensure adequate coverage of maths section, logical reasoning section so you dont have to rely on the comprehension section.

Second and most important – Prelims paper now requires a fundamentally different approach. While our Dominate Prelims program under Z Sir is the best shot you have to clear prelims, we are revamping it even further to ensure you are not surprised by papers like these.

  • Looking for optional subject experts

    Dear all,

We’ve built an amazing community of students preparing for civil services.

How we differ is in our approach to mentorship. It has been the key focus area for Civilsdaily.

The concept is simple. With the high levels of competition, students need handholding so they can build the initial momentum and get a rhythm going on. In an age of content overload, we’ve observed even the best minds lose precious time when they start out – experimenting around all the topper tips, trying different sources, arbitrary way of studying, no proper planning, and many other factors lead to wastage of both time and effort.

More often than not the price to pay is not just the first attempt, but a lack of energy and motivation leading to suboptimal subsequent attempts.

We are far from perfecting this system. It’s still a work in progress. But regardless, it is the best system that exists in the current UPSC preparation domain.

We are looking for like-minded people, who resonate with the problem we are trying to solve. This post is to specifically invite candidates with exceptional optional skills to teach and mentor students.

    1. Preference to those who already have an ongoing course.
    2. Should be extremely well-versed with the optional.
    3. Should very clearly understand how to score well in the paper. This is different from having knowledge.

Interested candidates can go ahead and fill the form given at the end of the careers page –
