Mentor’s Comment:

Maritime security is a big concern for a sovereign country like India. Here the introduction should mention about the concept of maritime security and threats in the Western Indian Ocean such as piracy, illegal migration, illegal fishing, smuggling of arms, narcotics and the big concern is terrorism and ethnic conflict in Syria, Yemen and Somalia.

In the main body talk about various multilateral and regional security cooperation for maritime security with their importance.

Next, mention about the Djibouti Code of Conduct (DCoC) adopted in 2009. Where under the  Code  signatories  intend  to  co-operate on repression of piracy and armed robbery against ships in Western Indian Ocean and Gulf of Aden.

Also talk about the Jeddah Amendment and its features which brings together countries in the region and cover important transnational maritime crimes.

Concluding points should be based on the points of main body.
