    ODISHA, Contemporary name of the ancient kingdom of KALINGA,the Cultural heritage State of India is rich in history, culture, architectural masterpiece, temples, wildlife, natural resource and a large coastline.

    This thread especially for aspirants having ODISHA as home state or in any way related to it.
    I will be posting stuffs more oriented to OPSC Services Exams syllabus (for both Prelims and Mains)and those are necessary for UPSC.

    GS I (Role of women and women’s organization) (Static +Dynamic + Analytical-Hattrick)

    Women should be permitted to enter the sanctum of sanatorium at par with men. Critically examine the statement. 

    Demand-

    The ban imposed some trusts prohibiting women contrivances the constitution.

    • – Discuss the past orthodox practices and current situation. Relate that to recent judicial judgment (4 marks)
    • – Discuss in relation Article 14, 15, 25 to make impact in answer (4 marks)

    What does one mean by a political philosophy approach to the constitution?  Critically examine

    Demand-

    From evolution of Constitution to the present day political philosophy approach of constitution

     

    Approach-

    • – First, explain in brief the conceptual structure of the constitution (4 marks)
    •  -Explain possible meanings of terms used in the constitution such as ‘rights’, ‘citizenship’, ‘minority’ or ‘democracy’ (3 marks)
    •  – A philosophical treatment of a value is incomplete if a detailed justification for it is not provided. When the framers of the Constitution chose to guide Indian society and polity by a set of values, there must have been a corresponding set of reasons. (3 marks)

    GS III (Health) (Static + Analytical – Duplex) 

    While India is closer to identifying the number of patients who seek private treatment, regulating the sector is a challenge. Discuss

    Demand-

    After efforts of so many years, still we are unable to curtail number of TB patients. Question is not on line of treatment but on the exact count of patients to target the disease in effective way.

    Approach-

    • – Explain the past and present method of data collection with difficulties involved in getting the accuracy of data (7 marks)
    • – Suggest way out and solution to reduce the number in short (3 marks)

    GS IV  (Ethical Values – Hattrick)

    There are a number of moral and ethical issues regarding surrogacy in India. Discuss

    Any friend from Chhattisgarh here?
    Let us make best use of it! 🙂 🙂

    So, what all to be covered under this section?

    -STUFF RELATED TO TRIBAL AREAS AND TRIBAL COMMUNITIES 🙂
    Why? Cuz the majority of state’s population belongs to tribal communities. Let us talk about them, their culture, their festivals, their cuisines, languages, and other important facts. This will not only help us state prelims (as a HUGE PORTION of the syllabus deals with tribes 🙂 ) we’ll be able to enhance our knowledge regarding art and culture of Chhattisgarh.

    -State specific schemes and initiatives! Why?
    So that we can incorporate those schemes and initiatives in our answers for GS and essays! (I’d request my fellows from CG to cover schemes of Bastar region specifically! 🙂 )

    -Do post some case studies, dealing with public distribution system or naxalism or anything. This will help us in GS answers especially GS4!

    Lastly, here are a few tit-bits about my Chhattisgarh! 🙂

    -Naya Raipur, a satellite city of CG, first smart city.
    -Our PDS is one of the greatest achievements of BJP Government.
    -CG is India’s first zero power cut state! (woah)
    -Rich in mineral resources, ranks first in coal production!
    -12% of country’s forest share. The state has 44% of land covered with forest.
    -We have the LARGEST STEEL PLANT OF ASIA 🙂
    -ASIA’S LARGEST SPONGE IRON PLANT!
    -SECOND LARGEST CHURCH IN ASIA
    -We are the ONLY producers of Tin! *cool*
    And many more!

    I’d request my friends from Chhattisgarh to post articles, news bits, mnemonics (for tribes, festivals, rivers and tributaries etc).

    ONE LAST THING- Things should be specifically prelims and mains oriented. 🙂
