Join the Ethics Habitat group (Click here)

(Instructions at the bottom of this page)

Dear students,

An important announcement, after sessions on Introductions to Ethics on Habitat group, today Sukanya ma’am will be taking the first chapter – Ethics and Human Interface.

Our approach

We are taking a fundamentally different approach to cover ethics.

Here is what our observation has been with learning on Habitat

  1. Reading from a book can be monotonous. And when you are starting from scratch, completing a book can be a very time-consuming process. Definitely not the best utilization of your time. In contrast, Habitat is a very vibrant ecosystem. It gets you up and running by having deep discussions.
  2. Learning via habitat is easier, quicker, and very less straining on the brain. You could be exhausted and you will still learn a lot of things.
  3. Discussions lead to better retention. It creates strong linkages in your memory. So you do not have to mug up things. You will recall the discussion that happened.

Every student attending the session is following the conversations and is in a very active state.

Join the Ethics Habitat group (Click here)

What all is going to be there?

The group will be administered by Sukanya ma’am, UPSC toppers and in-service officers. From discussions to answer writing sessions are going to be held there in a planned manner.

Ethics for UPSC

Developing strategy:

How to tackle Section A questions or what should be the approach to write the perfect case study? When so many beautiful minds will be at work, surely we will find answers.

Planned progression:

Discussion and syllabus coverage is going to be planned beforehand for a week to ensure we cover each and every topic in the syllabus. It is going to ensure discipline and consistency.

Example:

1-Sep-20 INTRODUCTION – DISCUSSION
2-Sep-20 ETHICS AND HUMAN INTERFACE – DISCUSSION What is Ethics?; Origin of Ethics; Essence of Ethics; Determinants of Ethics; Consequences of Ethics
3-Sep-20 GENERAL DISCUSSION 3 Schools of Ethics
4-Sep-20 GENERAL DISCUSSION Approach to Ethics; Dimensions of Ethics; Ethics in Private and Public Relationships
5-Sep-20 PREVIOUS YEAR QUESTIONS

Hello students,

It wouldn’t be wrong to assume that you know the importance of Ethics (GS Paper IV) for the UPSC exam. The news is that Ethics group is now available on Civilsdaily’s Habitat.

Why join the Habitat group on ETHICS, you ask?

  1. Want to learn efficiently, quickly
  2. Want to spend less time googling and more time refining and polishing your concepts.
  3. Discussing advanced concepts, quality improvement tips, etc.
  4. If you are a “Level 10 Procrastinator” – Rest all types like the Sherlock Sharma “I speak to the point in chats”, Chatterbox Singh “Stop me if you can” or even the Narcissistic Kumar “I know my points are right” are welcome. We believe each one of us has something which can be brought to the table. Strategy to handle the case studies or list of examples to improve your answer – We want all of you to contribute to the discussions on the group.

Smart people learn from everything and everyone, Average people from their experience and Stupid people already have all the answers.

Disclaimer – While we look to build a closer relationship between teachers and students, we strongly discourage spoonfeeding.

What is our philosophy?

We have diminished, if not removed the barrier between teacher and student. Co-learning and co-creating knowledge is the need of the hour. The discourses, the vaad-vivaad on every topic, every theory and every issue pushes the boundaries of your thoughts. (It is required)

Ethics for upsc

Our approach to mains is decentralizedIdeas flow from every direction. Learning is about conversations, it is about stories that change you and your perception of reality – enter the matrix without the red pill if you may!

IAS prelims 2021 date announced. How to crack IAS in one go? | Fill Samanvaya form for IAS 2021

Click to fill the form: Samanvaya for IAS 2021

IAS 2021 exam calendar has been released. You don’t have much time (just 10 months) if you want to see your name in the final list of 2021.

It should take just one attempt to clear this exam. Any further attempt, if you’re taking, should only be to improve your rank. (Civilsdaily has 70+ selections in 2019)

But most can’t. They keep missing out on a number of things, year after year.

Last month we had a discussion with around 1500 students who were not able to clear prelims even after more than 2 attempts. Some were stuck on mains.

Just making a workable strategy or covering the syllabus only is not enough.

Broadly, five factors determine your success in cracking this prestigious IAS exam: Planning and strategizing– the first step; Learning – Knowledge and information; Analyzing – making linkages, connections, etc.; Executing and utilizing information; and Constant course correction – because mistakes are inevitable, need to rectify them asap.

But how to do that?

Best strategy for IAS exam! | Let us make one ‘for you’ | Fill Samanvaya form for IAS 2021

Without a proper strategy, execution is aimless. Let us make one.. your strategy.. just for you!

Click to fill the form: Samanvaya for IAS 2021

So, you’ve decided upon this goal. Now, this is life. You want to crack this prestigious IAS exam. You just want to start. Or maybe you have already started on this journey, and you are in the middle somewhere, lost. What to do now?

Just stop wherever you are. Take a deep breath and answer this question – Do you have a strategy? It is not just about walking. It is about walking in the right direction.

Any vision, howsoever grand or noble it be, without a strategy is just an illusion.

Last month we had a discussion with around 1450 students who were not able to clear prelims even after more than 2 attempts. No points on guessing what was common to all of them. No strategy.

And what is the best strategy? One that is specifically designed for YOU. One that is based on your learning competencies, your situation in life, the time you have for preparation, your attitude, your aptitude, and a lot of other factors. And then you have to execute.

This is where our 3 tier mentoring comes in:

1. First step starts with this Samanvaya call: Once you fill in the form, our senior mentors get on a 30-40 minute call with you to understand your prep level, working/ study constraints, current strategies, and create a step by step plan for next week, next month and so on.

2. You are given access to our invite-only chat platform, Habitat where you can ask your daily doubts, discuss your test-prep questions and have real-time, live sessions on news and op-eds, and find your optional groups.

Daily target monitoring.

3. The third and the most personalized tier is the 1 on 1 mentor allotment who stays with you through the course of your UPSC preparation – always-on chat and on scheduled calls to help you assess, evaluate, and chart the next milestone of your IAS 2021 journey.

All UPSC Optional groups live on Habitat | Invitation links inside | Join yours now(Free)

(Instructions at the bottom)

Dear students,

We are ecstatic to announce that all UPSC Optional groups are live now on Civilsdaily’s Habitat – our learning platform. (Links for all optional provided below)

Habitat is yet another innovation by Civilsdaily. Another day, another slay! Not boasting really! but we have actually re-invented learning in general and re-structured UPSC preparation in particular.

Preparing for Optionals in the old, outdated manner you can never be ready for the curveballs in the Optional mains exam. Modern problems require ‘postmodern’ solutions.

What is our philosophy?

We have diminished, if not removed the barrier between teacher and student. Co-learning and co-creating knowledge is the need of the hour. The discourses, the vaad-vivaad on every topic, every theory and every issue pushes the boundaries of your thoughts. (Yup, it’s desirable!)

It gets chaotic in the Mains when you are sitting there scratching your head thinking about what surprises the next question might hold for you. For that, you have to get chaotic now,  turn it into constructive chaos, and channelize it.

Personalized targets

Answer writing and discussion

This is one of the most important offerings these Optional groups have to offer. Daily questions are shared, from previous year questions to topic-based questions. Answers to them are reviewed and discussed thoroughly. You don’t want to miss these sessions.

Answer writing and discussion

Notes and references

There are so many sources. Wisdom lies in not only selecting the most appropriate sources but also in knowing what you can and should avoid. All the important readings, references, and materials are suggested and shared on a regular basis. Based on the reference material shared, important topics will be pointed out and discussed.

You will be joining a focussed community of learners.
